- The present that Eddie gave to bud was a saxophone. He decided to give this as a present since Bud had been practicing a lot on the recorder.
- Bud realized that the room he was staying was actually his mothers.
- Bud found stones in the glove compartment. This was surprising to him because they were like the stones that his mother had. They both had a name of a state and a date on them.
- Herman Calloway never visited his daughter and Bud because Bud's mother ran away making it hard for Herman Calloway to know where she was.
- Bud's mother left her father, Herman Calloway because he was being very hard on her.
- Herman Calloway was very stubborn in accepting Bud. I think it is because he could not believe that he was related to him since he lost all contact with his daughter.

Bud, Not Buddy Response 15-16
1) Bud thought that the room he was staying in used to be occupied by a girl who is now dead because Miss Thomas told him that she was gone but her clothes were still here and to Bud gone means dead.
2) Herman Calloway doesn't want Bud to stay because he does not believe that he is his real son and has a bad feeling about Bud, for example in page 179 it says he comes in like the big bad wolf which makes you have the feeling that he hates and is angry at Bud
3) In page 185 the person who was speaking was Miss Thomas and she was shouting at Mr. Calloway. She was talking about how Herman Calloway is being really mean to Bud for no good reason.
4) Steady Eddie asks him about his suitcase because he noticed bad brought it everywhere and was wondering if the suitcase or the things inside it were important to him. When he found out it was the things inside Eddie gave him a new suitcase which used to be his old saxophone case.
5) The band gave the nickname SleepyLaBone for three reasons. Firstly Sleepy because he slept till twelve thirty, then La to add a little class and finally Bone because Bud is very skinny compared to most people.

Culture Shock
There are many different ways that the modern human being is different to an average Yanomamis. One of the most surprising facts is that they decide when a girl becomes a women when they have their period. This is surprising because girls periods can vary from 9 to 23.
